What should I pay attention to when juicing?
Add the pressed material gradually, as the auger draws it in and processes it, and do not tamp down. Remove coarse and long stems. If the pressed material contains a lot of peel, you can water it in advance and feed it wet. Cut fibrous fruits and vegetables into short pieces.
The juice becomes cloudy and contains a lot of pulp - is this normal?
The gentle pressing process with a low number of revolutions guarantees the preservation of the ingredients, fine fruit particles in the juice are normal (no clear, transparent juice is produced). This is also due to the nature of the pressed fruit. Fresh, crisp and juicy pressed material gives a better juice result than stored fruit and vegetables. If there are too many fruit particles for your taste, you can place a sieve over the collection container to filter them out.
Why does the juice thicken and becomemushy?
Due to the gentle pressing process with a low number of revolutions, the cell skin of the pressed product is hardly damaged or destroyed. As a result, the substances that counteract coagulation are not released and the juice thickens due to oxidation and the carbohydrates it contains.
Since there are so many different varieties within fruits and vegetables, this occurs depending on the constellation of substances present in the pressed material. In the case of apples, a mushy result occurs if they have been stored for a long time, if they are fallen fruit with bruises, or if the apples are mealy.
What can I do if the pomace is too wet?
You can press the pomace a second time so that the remaining juice is squeezed out.
What can I do if the drum becomes clogged?
During the pressing process, regularly operate the reverse function. If pulp still accumulates in the drum and is no longer ejected, please stop in time and clear the attachment parts of pulp.
